Commonly asked questions regarding
RAMPAGE DESIGN
construction methods
I. Suitability
of construction materials? Our product consists
of a fully welded and Hot Dipped galvanised steel frame
fabricated from 3mm- 5mm steel sections with 65mm thick
concrete faces as per Engineers Specification (Airey,
Ryan + Hill + Assoc).
2. Durability
and anti-vandalism features? Due the
construction methods used, there is no maintenance
required on the metal sections, whilst the steel framed
concrete skateable faces provide better longevity than
in-situ concrete facilities. Graffiti on the structures
can be easily covered with the same inexpensive masonry
sealer in which all ramps are coated prior to
installation. However it is recommended that only
unsightly or offensive graffiti be removed as it
provides both a safety and ownership aspect to the
facility. Professional street art can be supplied on
request by Mr Lindsay Westphal A.K.A.- AMUCK Graffiti
Solutions. |

3. Compliance
with construction standards?
Currently there exists no Australian Standard for the
construction of SK8 Parks however all relevant standards
for concrete and steel fabrication and playground
equipment safety have been adopted as part of our
Engineers Specification. Tolerances for steel work are
+/-1.5 mm and plastic nose section to
ground-0.5mm/+0.00mm
4. Noise
and amenity features? Noise levels as a result
of the skateboarding are identical to those generated by
in-situ facilities. |

5. Specific
Site Suitability?
RAMPAGE DESIGN
Skateable Shapes can be sited on any
flat, semi-level hardstand (concrete/bitumen) provided
the age and condition of the area is conducive to safe
skating. M30 screw levelling feet in each module corner
ensures a rock steady set up on any site regardless of
pad inconsistencies whilst the 10mm polypropylene nose
sections guarantee a smooth transition from pad to ramp.
6. How
does the cost of Rampage Design products compare with
the equivalent insitue product? Comparisons to
date would indicate that
RAMPAGE DESIGN's exclusive
method of construction can afford clients a cost saving
of between 30 + 40% as opposed to insitue structures of
the same size and configuration thus providing more SK8
Park/s for your budgeted dollar or indeed limited
budgets as pieces can be added at any time with Rampage
Parks starting at $10 000 and expandable in $1 000
increments to suit area growth and demand or resited as
areas develop. |

|
8. How
much area is required?
Site dimensions are dependent on:
-
Number of pieces to be sited
-
Projected expansion (if any)
-
Demographic of local usage (Age/Skill level )
Generally, one basketball court (16m x 30m) is
sufficient to allow for sitting and expansion of most
standard sets, although the minimum recommended is
400mSq. |
