Rampage Australia Pty Ltd has become an icon in skate park design and construction as the major supplier of wheeled sports facilities to shire councils and municipalities Australia wide. Conceived in 1996 by Peter Kelleher with Paul McPherson providing some twenty-five years experience in the skate industry and Shire / Council relations Australia wide with particular emphasis on longevity of design.

Rampage prides itself on being able to produce workable designs to fit any location or budget whilst providing sturdy equipment to be utilized by beginners and pro’s alike, indeed allowing a natural progression from one to the other within the one design thus avoiding the ‘White Elephant Syndrome ‘ so commonly suffered when trying to satisfy such a wide and ambiguously opinionated cross section of the skating public. Over the past ten years, Rampage has emerged at the forefront of design and construction with the utilization of new technologies for the reinforcement and structural versatility of sprayed concrete whilst pioneering the use of spray able and stainless steel fibre for freeform casting.

In order to maintain the exacting curves required to achieve the optimum surface skateability, special spraying techniques peculiar to this method of construction have been formulated by Rampage in consultation with Fibercon Australia’s, United States Laboratory Engineers to ensure that maximum structural integrity is achieved by way of strictly maintained tolerances. The completion of contracts for the Shire of Kalamunda and Town Of Mosman Park has seen bowls constructed in parks in Forrestfield, High-Wycombe and Mosman Park and the installation of over a hundred modular parks Australia wide display Rampage Designs attention to detail, versatility of design and adhesion to relevant Council ordinances and specifications whilst embracing the Omni present issue of safety and public liability.

Rampage Designs SK8 Park Design and Construction Facility - Bayswater

Once upon a time in-situ concrete was seen as the most cost effective and maintenance free method of construction for skateboard facilities however it imposed certain restrictions on design and although extendable, the design is set and unchangeable. Moveable pieces have always been popular due to the availability of numerous and varied set ups and whilst clearly the most versatile concept, was sadly open to vandalism and theft unless costly fencing was installed. Enter the Rampage Design Semi Mobile Concrete Skate Park System, Winner 1999 Local Government and 2000 Federal Government Awards for Design and Innovation.

In 1999 Rampage Design conceived and developed the Semi Mobile Concrete Skate Park System. The concepts aim is to eliminate all of the parameters usually associated with site failure in these situations by way of a fully welded and Hot Dipped Galvanized steel frame, fabricated from 3mm-5mm steel sections, with 65-mm thick reinforced concrete faces to any skateable shape imaginable. The development of the Semi Mobile modular system has revolutionised skate park design by offering a whole new perspective and flexibility for un-supervised public facilities.

This systems transportability has seen over 100 Rampage Semi Mobile Facilities installed in remote regions like Albany, Denmark, Exmouth, Three Springs, Corrigin, Karratha and Port Hedland to name but a few!. The economic savings afforded by back-loading has seen Rampage Design skate parks and extensions to existing facilities appear around the Gold Coast and Cloncurry in Queensland, Central New South Wales and Victoria.

Due the construction methods used, there is no maintenance required on the metal sections, whilst the steel framed concrete skateable faces provide better longevity than in-situ concrete facilities.

Graffiti on the structures can be easily covered with the same inexpensive masonry sealer in which all ramps are coated prior to installation. However it is recommended that only unsightly or offensive graffiti be removed as it provides both a safety and ownership aspect to the facility. Professional street art can be supplied on request by Mr. Lindsay Westphal AKA AMUCK Graffiti Solutions.
